Our Services
Three clear services.
One careful approach.
Each service is scoped to a specific stage of a family law matter, so clients know from the start what is included, what it costs, and what to expect.
Return to HomeHow We Work
Our methodology, briefly stated
Listen and understand
We take time at the start to hear the full situation without interruption. What matters to you — and what concerns you — shapes how we frame the work.
Explain the legal landscape
We set out what the law allows, what the courts in Kota Kinabalu are likely to consider, and what documentation will be needed — in plain terms, in writing.
Sequence the work patiently
Drafts are prepared in sequence, with time for review between each. Nothing is finalised before you have read it, thought about it, and indicated you are comfortable to proceed.
Service 01
Family Maintenance Advisory
A measured advisory session for clients seeking guidance on spousal or child maintenance under Malaysian law — whether they are the party requesting maintenance or the party being asked. The firm explains the relevant legal framework, the realistic range of outcomes, and the documentation that will likely be requested. You leave with a one-page written summary of everything that was discussed.
What is included
- Full advisory session (60–90 minutes)
- Explanation of LRA 1976 maintenance provisions
- Realistic outcome range discussed
- Documentation checklist provided
- Written one-page summary after session
Typical timeline
Single session. Written summary delivered within two working days.
Service 02
Custody & Access Arrangement Drafting
Considered drafting of custody and access arrangements between separated parents, with care taken to keep the language workable and the schedules realistic. We encourage parents to think through ordinary weekly life as well as school holidays, religious observances, and extended-family events. Where mediation is suitable, we coordinate with experienced family mediators. Where court orders are required, the documents are prepared at the appropriate level of detail.
What is included
- Initial consultation with both or one parent
- Drafting of custody and access arrangement
- Holiday, school, and religious schedule consideration
- Mediation coordination if applicable
- Court-ready documentation where required
- Review period before finalisation
Typical timeline
2–6 weeks depending on complexity and whether mediation is involved.
Service 03
Comprehensive Family Settlement Package
A coordinated engagement that brings together divorce filings or separation agreements, parenting arrangements, financial settlements, and ancillary documents — such as adjusted wills and EPF nominations — into a single ordered package. The work is sequenced patiently so that nothing important is overlooked, and the client is given time to consider each draft before signing. This is the appropriate engagement when the full scope of a family settlement needs to be addressed in one coordinated process.
What is included
- Divorce or separation filing coordination
- Parenting arrangement drafting
- Financial settlement documentation
- EPF nomination updates
- Adjusted will preparation
- Full review period for each document
- Written summary at each stage
Typical timeline
6–16 weeks. Pace is adjusted to the client's readiness and the complexity of financial matters.

Shared Standards
What every engagement includes
No undisclosed charges
Professional fees are agreed before work begins. Disbursements are itemised and disclosed separately, in advance.
Absolute client confidentiality
Everything you share is held in professional confidence. Files are stored securely and never shared without your explicit instruction.
Written record of every session
You receive a written summary after each meeting so you hold an accurate, readable record that can be referred to later.
Time to read and consider
Drafts are not presented for same-day signature. You are given adequate time to read, ask questions, and decide before moving to the next stage.
One consistent adviser
You speak with the same person from the first meeting to the close of the matter. No handovers, no repeating yourself to a different staff member.
Bar Council membership
All advisory work is conducted by Malaysian Bar members in good standing, adhering to the professional conduct standards applicable to legal practice in Malaysia.
